Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United star, continued to support Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich striker, for the second year in a row in the Best in the World award race.
Lewandowski received the award presented by FIFA for the second time in a row, today, Monday, at the annual Best Awards for 2021.
And FIFA published on its official website the choices of the national team leaders in the race for the best player in the world, where Lewandowski came at the top of Ronaldo’s choices, as happened in 2020.
The “Don” chose the French N’Golo Kante and the Italian Jorginho, the Chelsea duo, in second and third places, respectively.
Â
On the other hand, the Argentine Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, sided with his two French teammates, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, placing them at the forefront of his choices.
Messi ignored his Polish opponent, preferring to him the French Karim Benzema, the Real Madrid striker, who came third in the flea choices.
And it seemed that the 34-year-old wanted not to enhance Lewandowski’s chances in the race, as he was already his most prominent competitor, but the Polish eventually beat him by 4 points, as the Argentine came second in the vote.
And given the vote of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, who finished third in the race, his choice of his most prominent competitors will appear in his list of choices.
Salah chose the Italian Jorginho in first place, followed by Messi and then Lewandowski in the next two places.
